Background

Bill is hunting just south of Medford (his camp is the red dot):

This is a closer view of the area. His camp is the red dot, and the blue and green dots are roughly his normal sitting spots for hunting:

 

Here is a 3D view of his camping and hunting areas. The camp is a gravel turnout in a road, at a location called Wolf Gap.

As you can see, he can move west on a fairly level course and hunt that large kidney-bean shaped opening, or go east up a slight gradient and look out over the open slopes of a very large area. There is good cover in most draws, and when he calls he is hoping to pull a bear up out of the heavy cover.
